Abstract
As lightning strikes greatly threat the safety of transmission line, the locating of lightning strikes is of great significance to fault recovery and safe line operation. Distributed optical fiber sensing technology has the characteristics of strong anti-electromagnetic interference ability and wide monitoring range, and has broad application prospects in the field of online monitoring of transmission lines. This paper proposes a lightning strike locating method based on ΦOTDR. Through simulation, the impact of lightning arc force and shock wave on the cable and its internal stress changes are analyzed. Through the lightning strike experiment in the laboratory, the ΦOTDR data during lightning strikes are analyzed, and the results show that using ΦOTDR, the vibration situation near the lightning strike can be monitored, and the signal-to-noise ratio of the vibration signal can reach 6.3dB after EMD decomposition-wavelet decompositionwavelet denoising processing, which provides a new method for lightning strike monitoring of transmission lines.
