Abstract
As we all known, the Shupe error of optical fiber coil is influenced by many factors. The physical parameters (Young's modulus and thermal expansion coefficient) of the potting adhesive significantly affect the peak value and uniformity of Shupe error. Therefore, it is a good time-saving method to evaluate the potting adhesive physical parameters by discretized mathematic model of Shupe error and it is able to optimize index selection system of potting adhesive and reduce the non-uniformity of thermal induced non-reciprocal bias, which is of great significance in the application of FOG. In this paper, by constructing the refined finite element model of the fiber coil, the influence of geometric parameter of fiber coil on Shupe factor are simulated using the two-dimensional axisymmetric discretized mathematic model of the fiber coil. By analyzing the influence of the geometric parameters of the optical fiber coil on the Shupe error factors, the fiber coil parameters can be optimized, and the Shupe error can be reduced, and a reference for the loop parameter design can be provided.
