Abstract
Due to their high reliability, high security, and low-cost characteristics, one-time programmable (OTP) memories are widely used on many occasions where stored data does not need to be reprogrammed on-site. However, the great difference between the interface protocols of mainstream OTP memories on the market and the Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) bus protocol commonly used in SoC systems makes it impossible to integrate the memories directly into the chip. To eliminate this limitation, this paper designs an OTP memory controller to realize the conversion function of OTP memory interface protocol and Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) protocol, so that CPU, Direct Memory Access (DMA), or other modules can access the memory through the APB bus protocol. Through simulation, the results show that the controller functions well in controlling OTP memory to power-up, program, read, read in test mode, and power-down.
