Abstract
Atmospheric spectroscopy appears as one of the fields where the use of Fourier transform spectrometry brought particularly important new results. Very high resolution low noise absorption spectra are now regularly recorded from various ground stations to determine the total abundances of many stratospheric constituents and to follow their changes in time. Specific observations are also made, from balloons or satellites, to obtain the vertical profiles of these abundances. Systematic comparisons aim at the detection of new telluric molecules of anthropogenic origin.
