Abstract
Modeling and simulation are powerful problem solving techniques because they allow experimentation that would otherwise be cumbersome or impossible. However, care must be taken in executing the techniques to ensure credibility of results. This paper identifies critical elements of seven major steps in the modeling and simulation process that, when applied carefully, greatly enhance the likelihood of success.
