Abstract
This paper presents information related to the substantive changes that are contained in the ATM Forum LAN emulation over ATM version 2 specifications (LANE Version 2). With LANE Version 2, the client-server behavior (LUNI) and the server- server behavior (LNNI) are detailed in separate documents. The LUNI specification includes new features such as support for LLC-multiplexed data connections and support for quality of service and is a replacement document for the original LAN emulation over ATM specification. The LNNI specification details the interactions between the various LANE Version 2 service components. This paper highlights the LUNI changes and details the LNNI operational theory.
