Abstract
The frequency chirp in a pulsed 10 atm continuously tunable rf-excited CO2 waveguide laser has been measured. The chirp, which is on the order of 100 MHz/μs, is caused primarily by the heating of the gas by the discharge. We find good agreement between our results and the theory.
