Abstract
Dual-band GPS occultation receiver is designed to provide highly accurate measurements for atmosphere and ionosphere. The instrument flying on low-Earth orbit (LEO) receives the signals that have crossed the atmosphere and ionosphere at varying altitudes. It contains antennas, Radio Frequency Conditioning Units (RFCU) and central Electronic Unit. Besides the usual real-time navigation, the instrument must accurately track a sufficient number of GPS Space Vehicles (SV) for Radio Occultation (RO) and for precise orbit determination (POD), providing precise dual-frequency carrier and code phase measurements for the RO application. Plenty of environmental data can be deduced by way of further processing. This paper shows some data derived by mountain based observation experiment.
