Abstract
A method for recording and reconstructing holograms of a small object using image plane digital holography for displacement and strain measurement is presented in the paper. The hologram of the magnified object is recorded using an imaging lens for the measurement of small area of the object. The optical setup for image plane digital holography is used for recording the hologram for the magnified measurement of the small area of the object. The magnified area of 120 × 90 μm2 is obtained using phase-shifting digital holography with the microscope objective lens (MO). The resolution and the magnification obtained by single exposure digital holography are almost same with those obtained using phase-shifting digital holography. The results show that the magnified image of the small area can be reconstructed using the proposed method with the easy and simple optical setup.
