Abstract
An experiment was carried out under different light illuminance to verify the failures of color additivity and color adaption transformation. In the asymmetric color matching experiment, many matched monitor colors are "bluer" than the printed colors placed in the cabinet. The color additivity and adaption failures have practical consequences in cross-media color matching. Different modification in different color region was used in the color adaption transformation and the shift between the printed and monitor samples have been corrected to some extent. In order to modify the color matching functions and improve the color adaption transformation, more experimental data were required in the further research.
