Abstract
This paper describes a visual seam tracking system used for the path and torch height correction of an arc-welding robot. The system consists of a white light as the light source, a solid state camera to acquire image, a 16 bits personal computer as the image processor, and a ITRI-W welding robot which is developed by Mechanical Industry Research Laboratories, ITRI. Light source and camera are mounted on robot hand accompanied with torch.
