Abstract
In this paper, we present an improved image fusion approach based on Partial Differential Equation (PDE). In the new method, the classical calculation for gradient-difference of neighboring pixels is replaced by numerical differentiation. We compare the new method with the former PDE-based method, the results show that the quality of fused image obtained by new method is improved to some extent by means of a quality index, and the convergence of output image by new method is also faster to some degree than that by former PDE-based method.
