Abstract
With the Landsat-TM of 1993 and 2009, the incremental construction land vector of Changhai county (Changshan islands) was extracted by means of noise removing, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Color Composing, Classifying and Difference value arithmetic. With methods of overlay, buffer and geographic statistic analysis in MapInfo applied to construction land layer, the spatial distribution and the influencing factors were analyzed. The results showed: from 1993 to 2009, the construction land in Changhai county increased to some extent, and the population growth and the economic growth are the main promoting factors; The transport corridor have spatial attraction to the incremental construction land; the distribution of construction land has the trend to the infrastructural facilities such as harbors or dock; the industrial distribution also influences on the distribution of incremental construction land.
