abstract

A novel method for the wavelength-scanning interferometry is developed by use of the channeled spectroscopic polarization state generator (CSPSG), consisting of a polarizer and two high-order birefringent retarders, and the polarimetric common-path cyclical interferometer. This method has a feature that it is almost immune to the vibrational perturbations because the unbalanced path differences are introduced by the high-order birefringent retarders in the CSPSG. In addition, the fluctuation of the CSPSG due to the temperature change can be compensated in parallel to the phase distribution measurement of the sample, based on the self-calibration technique.© (2012) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
