Abstract
An application of the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) to modulation extraction of additive moir´e fringes and time-average patterns is described. To facilitate the task of demodulating a signal with zero crossing values a two frame approach for the wavelet ridge extraction is proposed. Experimental studies of resonance vibration mode patterns by time-average interferometry provide verification of numerical findings. They agree very well with our previous investigation results obtained using the temporal phase shifting method. No need of performing phase shifting represents significant simplification of the experimental procedure.
