Abstract
In order to acquire the weak signals of the GPS, the signal energy should be exploited as much as possible. A new civil signal L2C is available now. If we can use signals from one satellite but on different frequencies, the processing gain can be increased by combining the energy of the two signals. This paper researches on four different detection schemes utilizing combined legacy L1 C/A and new L2C signals in the acquisition process based on FFT method. Each of the four detection schemes based on the frequency and code delays relations of the two signals. Simulations are done to evaluate the performance of each detection scheme as well as the common non-coherent L1 C/A acquisition only. Advantages of the combined methods are obvious. Especially, we adopted a comparing NCH method, and a distinctive and attractive performance is achieved.
