Abstract
Speckle method of characterization of multiple scattering media with the use of frequency modulation of probe light is considered. This method assumes the analysis of oscillation index of the timeaveraged speckle patterns in the dependence of the frequency modulation depth. In the case of binary modulation, the oscillation index of the detected light is defined by the cosine Fourier transform of the path length density of propagating photons in the medium. Experimental verification of the considered technique with the use of phantom scatterers (Teflon films and rutile powder layers) showed the good agreement between the retrieved and simulated photon path distributions in probed media.
