Abstract
Aiming at the issue of fast airport detection in large high resolution SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images, an improved detection method based on the holistic features of airport is proposed. The whole process includes four steps: image preprocessing, image segmentation, ROIs (Regions of Interest) extraction and ROIs discrimination. The paper has made some beneficial researches on each step, especially on image segmentation and ROIs discrimination. The experiments show that this detection method has excellent applicability with satisfying processing speed.
