Abstract
The fabrication of large optical surfaces is accompanied by a considerable amount of mathematical analysis and modeling aimed at assisting in the measurement of the optic, refining the grinding operation and speeding up the polishing process. A summary of such recent efforts provides a good indication of the state of the overall process.
