This paper studies the color cognition characteristics of the elderly on the mobile phone interface, and provides a reference for the color design of the mobile phone interface suitable for aging. First, through the analysis of the cognitive characteristics of the elderly and the elements of color design of mobile phone interface, the color cognition mechanism of mobile phone interface for the elderly is clarified. Then, combined with the method of Kansei Engineering, the perceptual cognitive characteristics of the theme color and component color of the elderly were obtained respectively. Finally, combined with a health management APP, its cognitive characteristics are explained. The research results show that among the theme colors, yellow is more popular among the elderly. In the color layout of components, the difference in saturation has a significant impact on the perceptual cognition of the elderly. The difference in saturation and beating layout can be used as the first choice for the color layout of components in an aging interface, which can better satisfy the elderly’s cognitive characteristics of aesthetics, coordination and openness. Combined with a health management APP interface design scheme suitable for aging, the paper explains its color cognition characteristics, and the research has a good guiding significance for design practice.
