Abstract
At this stage, traffic problems in urban areas such as traffic congestion and traffic accidents occur frequently. Road intersections, which are important nodes of urban roads, often form the source of these problems. Solving the traffic conditions at road intersections has a positive effect on improving the traffic conditions of the entire road network. This paper uses VISSIM traffic simulation software to conduct field surveys and surveys at the intersection of Taishan Street and East Wangyue Road, and use these data as a basis to simulate the intersection. Then we analyze and evaluate the output data, describe the traffic conditions at the intersection, and find out the cause of the traffic problem at the intersection. According to the analysis reasons, the actual situation and the feasibility of the operation, an optimization plan (intersection channelization plan and signal light timing plan) is proposed. The optimized road intersection was simulated again, and the feasibility and effectiveness of the optimization plan were judged by comparing the simulation results before and after optimization.
