Abstract
In this paper, a predator-prey model with nonlinear harvesting of prey is studied, and the impact of harvesting rate on the ecosystem is evaluated. By selecting harvesting rate as a control parameter, the optimal control model of harvesting rate is established. Moreover, using the Pontryagin maximum principle to transform the optimal control problem into a Hamiltonian system, analytical expression of the optimal harvesting rate is obtained. Numerical simulation is performed by using the pseudo-spectral method, and results show that a reasonable harvesting rate can achieve a win-win scenario both economically and ecologically.
