Abstract
With huge demand for electric energy and short storage of fossil fuels, renewable energy has been employed increasingly by many countries. However, transmitting this power into utility grid is still a big issue. In order to realize high-efficient power transmission and reduce power loss, various power converters have been developed to work in different transmission conditions. This paper presents topologies of 14 types of power converter with a typical PWM control strategy, including both DC to DC and DC to AC power converters with their simulation results, which are analyzed by MATLAB-Simulink. Based on the simulation, the performances are evaluated with different parameters, and advantages as well as disadvantages are concluded. Moreover, some advice on designing and choosing power converter under different transmission conditions are posted.
