Abstract
With photoelectric detection technology gradually becoming an important technical way to obtain information such as enemy position in modern warfare, infrared passive ranging has become an important research direction of photoelectric detection technology. The existing photoelectric detection device provides azimuth and pitch angle information, which cannot detect, alarm, and locate the incoming target in time. Therefore, for the practical application of infrared passive ranging in target reconnaissance and alarm, this paper proposes a single-station dual-band infrared passive ranging method based on atmospheric transmission model by combining infrared images with passive ranging using infrared detection system. This paper discusses the principle of infrared passive ranging and its derivation, establishes a dual-band infrared passive ranging model based on atmospheric transmission and analyzes the factors affecting the accuracy of single-station dual-band passive ranging. In the field test, the algorithm was verified by using the infrared aircraft target data measured by 3.7~4.8μm and 7.7~11μm dual-band detectors, and the ranging results and errors were analyzed in detail. The results show that the error of the model is less than 10%, which is suitable for practical engineering applications.
