Abstract
Considering that traditional statistical learning methods are vulnerable to illumination interference and difficult to obtain accurate human eye centers when locating human eyes, this paper proposed a human eye detection and location algorithm based on SIFT registration and a modified CNN model. Firstly, face images were registered using SIFT. Secondly, the processed images were transferred into the modified CNN model to extract left and right eye anchor on the human faces and determine whether there were human eyes in the anchor. Finally, the size of the left and right eye anchor was calculated to obtain the accurate human eye center in the anchor. Tests based on JAFFE face database and CMU Multi-PIE face database showed that the proposed algorithm had a strong anti-interference ability to complex illumination, irregular face images and facial expression transformation, and could obtain accurate human eye center points.
