Abstract
Fuzzy clustering is widely used in image segmentation by scholars. The existing fuzzy clustering algorithm still lacks sufficient segmentation accuracy in the face of noise-polluted images. Therefore, combining the spatial information of membership and multi-scale filtering, an improved fuzzy clustering algorithm is proposed to solve the problem that noise may occur in the homogeneous region. Firstly, the spatial and brightness information are introduced into the objective function to reflect the context information and realize the adaptive adjustment. The Gaussian kernel metric is used to replace Euclidean metric, and the low dimensional linear separable data is mapped to the high dimensional linear separable or approximately separable data. Then the membership is modified again according to the proposed spatial function to optimize the image segmentation features. Finally, the multi-scale space of the image is constructed by a Gaussian filter, which is progressively segmented layer by layer, effectively suppressing the noise interference and improving the robustness of the algorithm. The performance of the algorithm has been improved in the synthetic image and natural image, especially in the case of serious noise pollution and complex background.
