Abstract

Simplified formulas for the 3rd-order aberrations of an optical system which has centering errors have been developed. These fornulas were applied to estiiiate centering tolerances arcng rrin ccxronents of Japanese National Large Telescope (LNLT) . The result was confirn1 by calculating spot diagrar with tha optical arranerre, in which the relevant cononents of JNLT re given centering errors corresporxling to tha tolerance values.
