Abstract
As one of the four ancient civilizations, China annually excavates a significant number of glass artifacts, making it imperative to investigate their composition and associated factors for the preservation of cultural heritage linked to glass products. This study meticulously classifies glass artifacts by employing methods such as categorical variable correlation, systematic hierarchical clustering, and correlation coefficients based on data provided by Chinese archaeologists. The research explores the factors influencing surface weathering of these artifacts while establishing a model using distance-based classification approach to determine artifact typology based on their composition. These findings contribute to an in-depth understanding of Chinese glass artifacts and provide crucial insights for conserving glass cultural relics
