Abstract
Several multivariate techniques for simultaneously determining components with overlapping infrared spectral features in their vapor-phase infrared spectra are compared; partial least- squares (PLS) regression gives the best results. The effect of variations in the sample temperatures on multivariate quantitative analysis by vapor-phase infrared spectrometry using PLS regression is discussed, and a method of minimizing the quantification errors is described.
