Abstract
Fiber-optic thermometry is advantageous for applications in electrically-hostile environments, such as in high DC electric or magnetic field, or in strong RF or microwave fields. The dielectric nature of the optical fiber is also important in safety applications, such as in measurements in an explosive environment or when monitoring patients.
