Abstract
Unidirectional oblique illumination is studied in this paper as a useful illumination source for machine vision modules. For many practical instances, it allows the vision nodule to compose a binary picture which conveys useful information of the object in the scene otherwise unattainable from simple thresholdinq of front-lighted pictures.
