Abstract
In this article, the EMR fluid has been prepared by dispersing CuPc-Fe3O4 nanoparticles composite in chlorinated paraffin oil. This EMR fluid have strong ER and MR activity even low electric field or magnetic field is applied. When electric and magnetic field are applied at the same time, it has obvious synergistic effect. The device with adjustable stiffness has been designed and fabricated which uses the EMR fluid containing CuPc-Fe3O4 nanoparticles composite as the working medium and can be used in the field of structure vibration decrease. The basic properties of this device have been studied. The results show that when electric/magnetic field is applied, the device has certain stiffness which can be adjusted by the intensities of the electric/magnetic field applied.
