To manufacture qualified oxygen concentration cell, it is very important to produce reliable and consistent MgO- partially stabilized zirconia (MgO-PSZ) fine powder. This paper described an advanced coprecipitation method for preparation MgO-PSZ fine powder. Practices show that the characteristics of final products, such as chemical purity, particle size and shape were satisfactory. The performance of Cr/Cr2O3 reference electrode was discussed. The measures to overcome shrinkage of Cr/Cr2O3 reference electrode had been taken herein. In addition, the application of HF-NQO-100 oxygen concentration cell in BOF- steelmaking process was very successful.
