Abstract
Asynchronous Transfer Mode - Passive Optical Network (ATM-PON) systems support not only existing narrow-band voice and data service but also general broadband services such as video broadcast services to subscriber using the network topology with passive double star architecture. ATM-PON system integrates various access network configurations into a single integrated platform based on ATM. For flexibility and expandability, surveillance and control for ATM-PON system should be developed modular and hierarchical structure. And, surveillance and control block is developed as distributed real-time block for ATM-PON system. In this paper, we describe the development of distributed surveillance and control for ATM-PON access systems.
