Abstract
In this paper, based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, a simple route for calculating the radiative lifetime of transition 4I13/24I15/2 of Er3+-doped transparent materials is proposed. A mathematical representation of the radiative lifetime is given as a function of absorption band of 4I13/24I15/2 transition.
