Abstract
In this paper, a laser diode vibrometer based on the self-mixing interference effect is proposed. A prototype of the laser diode self-mixing vibrometer has been assembled and optimized. The self-mixing signals have been observed in the laser diode self-mixing vibration measurement system when the external object (PZT) is driven by function generator. Experimental result is given and discussed. The self-mixing vibrometer could reach high resolution with a wide dynamic measurement range up to 22 KHz.
