Abstract
A film transport mechanism has been designed so that the image appearing at the fibre optic output window of a microchannel plate intensifier tube is transmitted to film b direct contact, thus ensuring maximum efficiency. Electronic circuits have been developed so that the tube ma) be pulsed for durations from 100 n.s. to 20 n.s with, in addition, a high cut-off ratio where necessary. The camera has been used under various conditions, for surveillance purposes, for photography of moving vehicles in poor light, and for projectile photography, and results are shown. An extension of the technique in the projectile field permits two successive exposures of a single projectile to be obtained.
