Abstract
A sensing fiber that has a gradually increasing Brillouin gain-coefficient gB/Aeff along its length and that can keep the received Brillouin Stokes power constant in a Brillouin fiber-optic sensor is proposed. This method can be an additional way to further extend the sensing distance of the distributed Brillouin fiber-optic sensor.
