Abstract
The radiation induce loss in silica fiber was studied and the way on anti-radiation of silica fiber was discussed. It shows that the colourated positive ions (for example Fe, Cr, Mn, Cu, Co, Ni) in the silica fiber is harmful to the anti-radiation of silica fiber. Because the recovery begins as soon as the radiation induced loss begins, the faster the dose rate is, the smaller the total dose is when the fiber is of failure. The experiment indicates that the pre-irradiation of fiber is of advantage for the anti-radiation of fiber. The results are helpful for the application of silica fiber in radioactive environments.
