Abstract
The safety of earth-moving machinery and its drivers are more and more attention by the industry, the standards for the protective structures of roll-over and falling objects based on ROPS/FOPS also makes mandatory requirements for the safe operation of earth-moving machinery such as dump trucks. Based on the typical ROPS working conditions of heavy duty dump truck, combined with the standard requirements of lateral loading and energy absorption, and based on the optimization objective of cab lightweight, the influence of cab bar thickness on the mechanical properties of ROPS is analyzed, furthermore, the comprehensive effect of cab stiffness on ROPS performance is analyzed. The research methods and conclusions of this paper can provide a theoretical reference for the study of ROPS/FOPS performance optimization of earth-moving machinery.
