Dr. Hao Zeng is currently holding a tenure-track position as an Associate Professor of Soft Matter Robotics at Tampere University and a title of Academy Research Fellow from Academy of Finland. Dr. Zeng leads a research Group Light Robots. He obtained the PhD degree in photonics from Florence University in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Diederik Wiersma. Then he carried out postdoctoral research in Tampere University between 2016 and 2021, in Smart Photonic Materials Group led by Prof. Arri Priimagi. His research includes light-responsive polymers, micro robots and non-equilibrium soft matters. He has published first and/or corresponding author articles in top-class journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Matter, etc. In 2022 he received 1.5 M euros research grant from European Research Council (ERC-StG-ONLINE).
